Chiral separation, aminomethyl pyrrolidine

Hi

I am a new user. I have joined after spending a great day in a conference with John Dolan, what a super chap!

I would like to ask for advice relating to a preparative chiral separation. I need to isolate pure aminomethyl pyrrolidine. Can anyone suggest a column that should work?

In my lab we have a range of columns available, including Chiralpak and Chirobiotic columns. I have started looking at a Chirobiotic T, in the reverse phase mode; however I have not had much success.

I have the option of purifying ether the free base or BOC protected aminomethyl pyrrolidine.

Any suggestions will be greatly received.

Thanks, Mark

If you've searched the published literature, and on-line data with no
luck, then I suggest contacting the technical support departments of the manufacturers of the columns that you have, describing what you have tried, and the chiral columns from their product ranges that are available to you.

Almost all offer a rapid email response after examination of emailled chemcal structures, and recommend conditions that may separate. Astec ( now Sigma- Aldrich ) WWW site also offers a simple sequential screening process to follow for each of their columns..

It's often faster to get some guidance from the manufacters of chiral columns, because column selectivity and optimisation is fairly complex.
