Yes, this is from Waters supplier.
Empower 2 supports Agilent 1200 (tested firmware a.06.01 and a.06.02 in 1100 emulation mode).

Hi Jam,
I am interested in connecting Agilent 1200 with its native drivers and not in emulation mode as some of the features of 1200 are not available when used with 1100 drivers.

asdfg,
we checked the issue when we wanted to connect also 1200 to Chromeleon.
apart from 3 features in the autosampler and the fact that it is colored white we found no significant difference between the current simple analitical 1200 UV and a 1100 system.
the features are:
- Bottom sensing
- Tray lighting
- Valve cleaning
all 3 of them were not found to be crucial for us.
on the other part if you intend to use their Micro system for "RRLC" (Agilent's sales name for UPLC) then you can only do it in chemstation, ezchrem elite and chromeleon right now

Well to be pedantic. Strictily speaking "UPLC" is also Waters take on Agilents "Fast LC"
They are actually quite different

Well so as to be slightly Pedantic as well but not too much so as not to deviate to much from the main subject
the correct general term is indeed UHPLC.
Waters was the first to introduce a system designed to work at UHPLC pressures with sub 2micron particle size columns.
the others came after. in effect all the systems are upgraded micro systems with High pressure pumps that have very low dwell volumes, and can stand high pressures.
because Waters went for a narrow particle size distribution for their columns they can stand pressures of 1000 bars as oppose to agilent 600 bars.
all in all the technological difference between the 2 systems in concept is close to nothing in my opinion. but don't get me wrong there are differences between the systems.
