Hello everyone!!

I'm working on a molecule which is stable in basic medium, so when i perform the dissolution, i stabilize it by adding a little quantity of base i.e NaOH, recently when i stabilized it with KOH the sample degraded in less than an hour....my question is if my molecu;e is stable on the basic side, then why did it degrade....KOH is more basic than NaOH right!!!!

I think you would be better off adding a known quantity of a buffer which would adjust the solution to a consistent pH.

Do you know the stability of the product as afunction of pH
