SIL-10AXL injecting air

I will replace these parts when I get them in. There was no ball. The front plate comes off with the stator in it, then the rotor connects via two pins to a stainless steel surface that does the turning. I suspect the bearing (ball) is behind this. Thanks again to everyone who contributed! I will let you know how it all comes out.

Still no luck. The air injection is still randomly occuring. I have replaced every consumable the company reps and I can come up with. I am going to move on to another piece of equipment for the time being. However, if there are any other suggestions I would be happy to hear them. Thanks again for all teh help!

No sure what the differences are between the 10A and 10AXL, but we had sporadic air problems with a 10A autosampler. After much aggravation we set the system up to make multiple injections from a vial filled with solvent and looked for air bubbles in the lines. Eventually we saw them in the line that appeared to have been "bent". While there was no leakage from this line, we replaced it and our problems stopped. Since nothing else seems to be working, I thought I'd throw this out.

It sounds like we are having the same problem. How did you know which line the air bubble was coming from (my system is plumbed with all stainless steel)? Also, by "bent", do you mean that the tubing had just been bent by accident? Finally, which piece of tubing was your problem? I have replaced the tubing connecting the three port to the six port valve and the new tubing seemed to acctually make it worse! Thanks for your help.

Our system uses "plastic" lines from the solvent reservoir to the syringe unit and from the syringe unit to the 6-port valve assembly. I think our problem was with the line from the solvent reservoir to the 3-port valve of the syringe unit. We would sporadically get air into this line which would eventually make its way to the injection valve. While watching the system make multiple injections (a fun job) we noticed air getting into this line and it appeared to be coming from the area where the line had been accidentally bent. Replacing this line fixed the problem, though at the time I did not have a lot of hope that it would. However, these lines were plastic on our system and not stainless steel, so we were able to see the bubbles. As I remember it, we spent a lot of time looking at the 6-port valve and the 3-port valve of the syringe unit when our problem was "upstream" from these valves. Our system has an SIL-10A autosampler but I saw a picture of an autosampler listed as an SIL-10AXL and it appears to be similar. Good luck.

The inlet to the syringe unit is plastic on my system, but tubing from the six port to the syringe unit is stainless. I have replaced this piece of tubing, but not the inlet. I will give the inlet tubing a try. Thanks for your input,
