Does anyone have experience operating the Varian Pro-Star HPLC system? If so, do you have any comments to make? I'm also very interesting in the new Varian LC-MS systems. The chemistry department at my former graduate school just recently purchased the new Varian 500 LC-MS system (ion trap) and I will be stopping by soon to see what kind of progress they've made.

I've just had such remarkable luck with Varian GC-MS systems compared to Agilent, that I'm leaning towards potentially favoring Varian again in the selection of an HPLC system.

Thanks for any feedback.

Hi

In my opinion, the hardware, espacially the UV detector with its dual pathways, is very good, for the software you should have a closer look, if you like it. Perhaps your local representative will give you a demonstration.

Best regards
Chris
