expected error for LCMSD quantification

Hi everyone,
I'm doing signal quantification on an old Agilent LC/MSD SL system. I use an internal standard, that is structurally very similar to my compound of interest and elutes at the same time (~0.1 min difference).

My question is, what is the expected error using a setup like this?

Thank you for your input.

Best,
M
Impossible to tell. You'll have to check by spiking experiments or better, a reference material.

Are you talking about error introduced by the sample preparation (recovery) or matrix suppression/enhancement?
thx for the answer Rndirk,
I'm wondering about the internal MS error assuming sample preparation was exactly the same.
Do you plan to run a calibration curve?

If you want a more detailed answer you'll have to provide more information... Even if we know your matrix and analytes, it's still impossible to predict the error.

If it's a one-time analysis and you want to quantify something in a given matrix, I suggest to run a calibration curve spiked on the sample (standard addition) and extrapolate to the sample concentration.
