Greetings,

I just burned out a filament after 7 months of 8hrs/day 5days/week running. Our system is Agilent 5975/6890 GC/MS. Is it normal? Is it convenient to replace filaments?

Thanks a lot!

Hello!
Habitually, at 8hrs/day X 5day/week, 8months is short...one year is o.k.
Optimize filament use
Wait 2h before tune when you have vent your system, minimize air leak,
Respect your solvent delay. If your peak have a retention time between 30 and 45min for example, open your filament between 25min and 50min

Does the 5975 have 2 filaments, like the 5973? Can you just switch?

Yes, now I am using #2 filament. But I am concerned that my treatment to the machine is not good.
Thanks for the suggestions.
