Hi,

We have an Acquity UPLC system but the computer died, so we got a new computer (OS Win xp sp3). The guy before me installed a version of MassLynx on the PC, but the software does not seem to recognize the UPLC system.

They told me that the version of MassLynx might not be the appropriate one for our system, but how can I know which one is the correct one? Going through the lab drawers I found a box with CDs of some 10 different versions of MassLynx and other installation CDs.

Is there a simple way that someone could tell me what I could do? The UPLC Acquity system is supposed to run fine (PM done as far the people from the lab can remember) I just cant seem to control it.

Oh, and I am new to Waters instruments and MassLynx software so there is also that.

Any help much appreciated.
Cheers

You need to install the correct Masslynx drivers for Acquity system-found in ICOP directory on your installation disk. Run the setup file and choose the correct instrument modules (such as detector, pumps) and then modify the Masslynx DHCP manager for ethernet connections to both the MS and the LC.
Thanks for the reply. I will try this tomorrow, but which version of masslynx should I go for? We have masslynx 4.1 and then there are a couple of #SCN options?

Hi
What is the MS ? The appropiate SCN is depend the MS. The release notes of SCNs can be found on the www.waters.com\support
Thanks mate, I figured it out. The mass spec is a Quattro Premier and the right SCN was 805. After some reconfiguration and installation of software/drivers I got it all working!

Thank you all for your help!

Cheers
