I need to look for the impurities in phenol sample using GCMS, can I inject phenol directly into gc column? What is GC setting?

Probably dilute in methylene chloride and inject.

Some of the impurities might need to be silylated to elute from column.

A DB5 column would work for either derivatized or underivatized sample. 50 to 300 C at 15 C per minute.

some info on my website about silyl derivatives..
