I attended a training course on GC. In the course, I was shown how to do methods development by playing with temperature and flow rate. But they used FID detector to do fast GC.
The idea is to do isothermal run to check k' (>2) first, then change flow to minimize time, finally decide a ramp by looking at isothermal chromatogram.
My question is if we can do the same thing with GC/MS. How to generate a performance report with peak width, k', peak area etc by using GC/MS chemstation.
Thanks a lot!
