Agilent 1100 system shuts down

Hello,

I have a problem with an agilent 1100 HPLC system. We performed a run on a new column, the purging was fine also the first 20 min of run (pressure was stable, no leaks occured next to the column), then suddenly the pump turned off and all symbols of the different moduls in the ChemStation turned red (pressure did not increase).

When I was triing to restart the thermostat or the pump all symbols in the ChemStation turned again red.

I hab already a problem like this, last time it was due to a leak next to the column, but this time I could not spot any wet place.

Does someone know possible solutions to fix this blocked system?

Thanks a lot!
Hi

First thing to check if leak - if you're sure there is no leak let skip it.

Second thing - if you're running gradient pressure is changing during run. So check if you have minimum/maximum pressure set up in parameters for pump. Perhaps you have maximum pressure setup to value that is reached (or even exceeded) in run.

Hi,
I checked if there are leaks, but there were no visible.

The system does not even allow to start the pump. It is even enough to start the heater and the system shuts down.

Thanks so far.
For kicks check your degasser. Is the indicator light red? Is your degasser connected in the back with a cable directly to the pump? If both of these are true your degasser is triggering the outage.
Don't forget check your logbook.

Sometimes it correctly identifies your problem. Sometimes.
