I´m trying to decide the best sulfur detector to be couple to a GC. I have read papers about SDC (Chemiluminesce) and PFPD (Pulsed Photometric detector) in beverages and food applications, does anybody can give me some advices?

mgaspari,
I have used an SCD for very low levels of dimethyldisulfide and other very volatile sulfur compounds before and was very pleased with the detector. We used a Seivers detector with great success. They take a little set-up time but we found them to be very reliable, reproducibly and sensitive (do sub ppm work easily).
Regards,

We used an FPD for Sulfur compound and it function very well.
But PFDP should be a better choice.

The SCD will be more sensitive and less subject to interference. An FPD will be cheaper and require less setup. The PFPD is more expensive and requires more setup than a standard FPD, and is not much more sensitive that the latest generation of FPDs from Shimadzu and Thermo.
