I have an old zorbax c8 column and need some pointers on how to try and reclaim it.

An old, unused column? Or an old column of unknown history? Either way, wash it with 50% acetonitrile for 10 min, then 100% acetonitrile for another 20 min, then test it. If it fails, don't waste any more time.
