I am running a GC (7890 with uECD) with a thermal desorption autosampler (Gerstel TDS G) and I'm wondering what is a normal %RSD for spiked samples? Say you run 10 tubes at the same theoretical concentration, what's the standard deviation like in your experience?
I know there is some error in the spiking of the tubes with the standard. I'm using a microliter syringe and spiking 1uL of methanol containing my standard (dibutyl phthalate, 100 ng in 1 uL), followed by flushing with nitrogen at room temperature at ~75 mL/min. Due to the low volatility of the analyte, I cannot spike the tubes in the gas phase.
