Hi all,

I have molecule in Preformulation study and is a form of carbohydrate.

We are expeceted to carry out solubility studies , HPLC method development . Since it is sugar molecule its difficult to detect on LC-UV (i've tried 1000PPM and 30µL) injection but response is low . Should i go for derivatisation or is it advisable to develop method on GC.

Request you kindly post your comments.

Best regards,

Yogesh

Do you have access to either a Refractive Index (RI) or Light Scattering (ELSD) detector? They both work well for carbohydrates - at least for assay once you work out suitable (and generally isocratic) conditions.
Thanks,
DR
