metabisulphite method

does anyone, has ever needed to develop a method for identifying and quantifying metabisulphite sodium in drug formulation? please any help would be greatly appreciated!

In solution, metabisulfite is in equilibrium with SO2, HSO3-, H2SO3, SO3=, etc. Any of the usual sulfite methods should work. AOAC 990.31 or the modified method in Dionex App Note 54.
