Hi
Just started using an ELSD microbore system, having problems with obtaining a baseline with flow rates of a 150 microlitres/min. I am using milli-q, methanol and formic acid for the solvent system.
I am new to this equipment so any suggestions will be more than greatful
Cheers
Sarah

A new ELSD takes time to blow the cobwebs out. The gas supply lines need to be very clean; if you don't have a sub-micron filter, get one. Also, the ELSD can tell you things about your water system that the conductivity meter won't tell you; if you have an alternative water source, see if that makes a difference. Finally, double-check all the advice in the manufacturer's instruction manual; there are some non-obvious things about the installation and setup of some models.
