Hi
I use a CHROMATOPAC for recording peaks in GC/FID.
how can I measure the W1/2 for calculating the effeciency?
I think that accuracy is very low.
thanks
happy new year

Hello :D

Are you using CR8A? If so, what's the chart speed?

Hi
I use C-R 6A chromatopac.
chart speed is 5.
happy new year
thanks

Hello:

If you're trying to calculate the plate count manually using CR6A, I'd suggest you take a printout of your chromatogram using a lower chart speed, say, 1 mm/min and use the lowest attentuation possible ( this will be the G key on the CR6A keyboard, the M key is for the chart speed)

You'll get large peaks in the chromatogram printout. This will make it easier for you to choose a peak and directly measure its W1/2 and calculate the plate count from that.

I hope this answers your question.
