GC-MS single quadrupole but lens 3 error

Hi,

I have a single quadrupole from Bruker (SCion).
When I try to tune I get an error message: "lens 3 not working properly".
Obviously, I have a single quad so I do not have a lens 3.
I found nothing in instrument manuals, nor in troubleshooting, nor in the web.
Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Luis
Your ion source has lenses that focus the ion beam. Check your manual as it may refer to one of those.

Hi,

Thanks for reply.
This is a single quad, therefore Manual does not refer to «lens 3».
Anyway, we looked deeper into QML files.
Turns out the «lens 3 not working properly» is just a (missplaced) string line.
This string line is displayed during hardware diagnostics as a response to an error.
The error in question seems to involve a readback value from the repeller.
The repeller however seems to work fine, at least we can see nice 18/28/32/69 signals.
BUT autotune does not run (even when we load previous tune files) neither does MS acquisition.
We have another identical equipment, same settings, same readings, no problem whatsoever.
Our best guess so far points to a electronics/reading/controller fault, not the repeller/hardware itself.
Local Bruker support hasn't been able to help so far.

Thanks,
Luis
