Hi all,

I am setting up method for analyzing impurities in propylene for students. They say that it should follow MCI test method ? but not ASTM. Anyone know what the MCI stands for ?

Thanks for any inputs
Who is they? I have never heard of any set of analytical testing protocols called MCI. I'd go with the ASTM if I were you. It is extremely likely that the petrochemical industry would adhere to the ASTM standards.

Thanks for the reply. They are students working on their project. I am not sure the MCI tests so I may try to search in the ASTM instead for the test.
I'd say that the students are not well informed. ASTM is "the Gospel" for this type of analysis. You will find procedures there that are well proven in many different laboratories. Thus, they will work if they are carried out properly.
