Hello,

Anyone have any experience with USP 228 ethylene oxide and dioxane? I purchased an ETO in PEG200 std from Restek and I think I am seeing interferences with acetaldehyde from the standard. Any info on where you get your ETO standard, the column you are using, etc would be appreciated.

Thanks
I developed a non-USP test method for ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, and 1,4-dioxane. I have the same problem, but with the PO analyte. Everything wants to dance with the PO peak.

I would like to help you, but I do not have access to the USP methods. I used to work for pharmaceutical laboratories, so I understand your constraints with methodology.

I purchase Sigma-Aldrich ethylene oxide 2000 ppm in methylene chloride (#4-7949) and 1,4-dioxane (# 34857).

Hope this helps. Maybe you could list the requirements of the USP <228> method?
Thanks for the information. Turns out it is a problem with the system I am using. I switched to another GC and the peaks look good.
