GC3900 with Galaxie issues.

Discussions about GC and other "gas phase" separation techniques.

Hello all,

I have a GC3900 (Varian) and try to set-up Galaxie to work with the GC (full instrument control).

With the setup I follow al the steps described in the manual (installation guide). Everything goes well until I try to 'configure the system'. There is a tool that automatically starts searching for any GC3900's when connected but it doesn't seem to find the GC I have connected. In the manual they say that if you know the I.P. adress of the GC you can also enter it manually, but when I enter the I.P. adress manually it doesn't seem to work. When I click: activate communication it doesn't automatically receive the information from the GC and there is still no way to control it in the software.

Anyone have any ideas what can be wrong?

Thanks in advance.

rikkert,

Have you tried to ping the GC from the command line?
