Difference between EP and USP

Just want to know what is the difference between the two? Which guideline should I follow particularly on my New Drug Product. Thanks

In recent years, many parts of the EP and USP have seemed to grow together. I'd use for whatever geographic locale you are in.
And yes - there are many parts to these publications that will just make you scratch your head and say "Really?"...

I fully agree with Consumer Products Guy. EP was copied 1:1 in Japan for the JP, and in China for the CP.
As I always say - it is challenging to use USP methods..............
