does distributer usually give out Qualification and Performance Testing results?
If the distributor is reputable, you should be able to ask to have detector noise and drift specifications verified, and if they match those reported by the manufacturer. For me personally, everything comes second until I am sure the detector is working and will suit my needs.

Don't expect a 2nd hand instrument to be trouble free for years... most of these distributors do not go through the trouble of changing consumables such as pump seals, check-valves, pistons, lamps, flowcells, needles and fittings. These are all things you should be prepared to replace after a few months usage.

Most importantly you want to make sure that the software is compliant for your purposes.
