Hi all,

I must check the purity of dimethyl hydrazine. Could it be analyzed by GC without derivitization? I worried about the amine functional group that might lead to tailed peak.

Thanks a lot.
It has been done in my lab, although the person who dd it has since retired and I remember that the results were such that the analysis was dropped from future projects. It was for site clearance of old military bases.
Yes it is possible by GC FID.
you can use DB-35 capillary column with hydrogen as carrier gas.
injector temp. must above the 180°C.

try it 8)
