I'm trying to find a SPE method for PEI. The sample matrix is a serum-free tissue culture media. We know that there are several amino acids present in the sample (confirmed by LCMS), but there may be other unknown components. The goal is to remove the sample matrix by using a SPE cartridge. Any idea about the types of cartridges and the conditions for this application is greatly appreciated.

Use a weak cation exchanger like a carboxylic acid sorbent.
Adjust sample pH to 7 with a volatile buffer or acid/base
pass through cartridge at 1 -3 ml per minute
wash away interferences with solvents
elute with methanol adjusted to pH 2.5 or lower at 1 ml per minute
