Hello everybody!

I have a problem with my Varian MS 2000.

I am getting a message "Trap filament is open" and am unable to operate the machine.

What should I do?
Please let me know.

This means one of your "two" filaments is burnt out. You can go into the software and initialize the other filament and you will be back in business. I can't remember where in the Saturn but one of the panels allows you the option of using filament #1 or #2. Switch to #2 and I bet you will be back in operation. Timothy

Thanks! vey much.

I did exactly what you said and it worked.

Thanks again!
I have the same problem right now and I dont know where to switch the filament 1 to filament 2, please help me!
Go to manual settings tab of MS work station software and on the 2nd filament if the 2nd filament is also open then you have to replace the filament
I get an error message "BOTH trap filaments are open. Please shut down the system and replace them."
Any help on that?
