FID installation on Varian CP-3800

Hello,

I have a Varian 3800 gaz chromatograph on my laboratory with 1079 injector and TSD detector. The 3800 was installed in 2006.
The instrument is controlled by galaxy software.
I want to uninstall the TSD detector and install FID detector.

I am not a specialist but i trust :
-I Have a DEFC 12 SI for TSD gaz regulation.
-I have a EFC21 SI for injector gaz regulation.
-i have TSD PWA card on the motherboard

I think i need to exchange the TSD PWA card by a a FID electrometer PWA
I think i need to exchange the DEFC12 SI by an other electronic flow control for FID, maybe the DEFC type 14

I would like to know if it's right?
Maybe someone have a procedure to do the exchange?
If not, i would like to know if there is other information that i need to know before procces the exchange (cable connection, EFC calibration???)

Thank you very much for your help

Best regards

Pierre
Hello,

You need to exchange the TSD PWA with the FID PWA,
also you need a new DEFC, the DEFC11.

But as you say you`re not an expert it would be better to contact a local service engineer.

regards,
