We have a Hewlett Packard (Agilent) Gas Chromatograph 5890 Series II interfaced with a Mass Selective Detector, 5970B.

It is either going to become a project for my Instrumental Chemistry students or to sell for parts. I can't get the detector to operate and have not seen a lot of cheap parts so I thought I'd check to see what you may have.
Thanks,

Jarral
Sorry - didn't see this post until today.

Yes, I've still got 5890 circuit boards available, let me know which part number(s) you are interested in. I may also have complete FID detector and FID circuit board as well.

I already sold most of my HPLC parts to a customer from this board, and I typically ask potential buyer to make an offer, my prices are pretty darn low.

I really need to inventory the 5890 GC stuff though.

I'll send an E-mail too.

Wow. I started looking at some manuals..--on my phone so maybe missing somethings. It looks like you have maybe this is 50% of the parts needed but a good start. Is that about right? I'll have to see how hard the rest of the bits and pieces are to come by in the next week...

Jarral
Make him an offer.
OK, fire sale time for the remaining stuff (see earlier post for list and photos), have to remove popcorn ceiling, paint, and install wood floor into last bedroom (where the stuff is now in boxes). And Mrs. KM-USA says the stuff has to go!

So no reasonable offer refused.

Remember, this stuff is pretty much "un-obtainium" already, and soon no more will exist. If interested, post your E-mail address here and I'll E-mail you (no private messaging available on this board). Thanks.
Please mail me at HbJ_Man@hotmail.com

Thanks in advance.
Our college (Eastern Florida State College) has recently acquired a GC/MS
Varian 5890
Finnigan ITS 40
I've got the Varian disks, installed them on Win 2000
but just get an unreadable message
Have only one very old IEE 488 card for the old style big pc socket
Have the one computer - original pentium system.

How, Where, is it worth while to get S/W to run this GC/MS

These parts would be very reasonable, and if you're in USA and pay shipping, you could try out such parts and just pay the upfront agreed-upon price if they work for you - yes, the honor system. Post your E-mail address if interested and I'll contact you.
I am looking for a 82350 HPIB to PCI board. I see many for sale on Ebay, several from China and a few from the USA in the sub 100$ price range. I am looking to spend around 50$. If anyone can point me in the right direction (or tell me what to avoid) I would appreciate it. I am setting up several 5890s and so far the data communication connectivity has been less than pleasant. Three of these systems had integrators and on had Chemstation on a PC that is long gone, along with the registrations.

I have both a 82350 and a 82341 HPIB boards for a computer available, can do either for $50 in USA, or you could purchase both. Post your E-mail address here (as this site does not do private messaging) and I'll E-mail you. For the 82350, you must still enter "hp82341" in the software to set up, don't ask me why. I can do PayPal, money order, or check, cannot do credit cards, and have done transactions with about six people from this site already, with no complaints.

Look at an earlier post in this thread, there are pictures and listings of available parts, should show these and other available stuff. Or buy the whole bunch !!!

Both of these were salvaged from computers used with 1050 HPLC or 5890 GC systems as those chromatography units were updated to more-modern. As to "PCI", I'm relatively computer dumb; these boards were in Pentium 3 or 4 computers using Windows 2000 if my memory serves me correctly...
Hit me up at uniformlima@protonmail.com and we'll see what we can pull together....

Email sent
OK, looked through my 3 boxes today. Sorry, apparently my 82341 and 82350 boards have already been sold, sorry. I have the other stuff listed earlier, and I edited my 2016 post of what I have available. My mistake for not updating.
Hi,

I'm looking for a few 5890 odds and ends. Can you email me at lbhutc01@louisville.edu?

Thanks.
