In the process of liquid chromatography analysis, no using mobile phase to dissolute can cause many strange phenomena, which is called to the " Effects of Sample Solvent ". When the composition of the sample solvent and the mobile phase is largely different, the elution ability of the two is also large. At this time the sample is easy to affect the chromatography peak shape, the most common phenomenon is the leading peak.

Solv-smoother design principle
According to my study, we found that the sample solvent also plays a dual role after the sample approaches the packing material: the first is its original role, that is, the role of dissolving the sample; and the second is as a mobile phase. Since these sample molecules are carried to the column by the sample solvent, not all sample molecules arrive at the same time, but sequently to arrive. So the sample solvent after reaching the column becomes the mobile phase of the firstly arrived sample molecules in the local range. Due to the small sample volume (usually 10ul), in the case of the flow rate of 1.0 ml/min sample solvent as a mobile phase is very short. The effect of sample solvent on chromatography separation mainly comes from its second role, that is, in the process of sampling plays a short-lived role in the flow phase, although the action time is very short, but because the concentration of the sample is very large at this time, so in a short period of time on the concentration of the sample in the column has a great impact, reflected in the spectrum is peak variation, asymmetry, the most common is the peak pre-extension.
In order to solve the peak distortion caused by the sample solvent, the most common practice is to dissolve the sample by mobile phase, in most cases of leading peak caused by "unused mobile phase dissolved sample", the result of dissolved samples with mobile phase can obtain the ideal peak shape and very high column efficiency. However, it is not practical to dissolve the sample in mobile phase, as the solvent that alters the dissolved sample is considered a change in the original method and is not allowed until a large number of certifications have been passed. Some are due to poor solubility of the sample in the mobile phase, the stability of the sample is not good, and so on, forcing the method developers to abandon the use of the flow phase to dissolve the sample. The technical team at Puningtech created a method of diluting the sample solvent online (note: not reducing the sample amount) to achieve "the composition of the sample solvent close to the mobile phase " and replacing "dissolved sample with mobile phase", Pntulips® Solv-smoother is the product which reduce effects of sample solvent. In short, the Solv-smoother improve the state of these sample molecules when they reach the column for separation, to warm up these sample molecules into the separation state, and to improve the column efficiency, improve the peak shape and resolution under the premise of not changing any pharmacopeia and other strict prescribed methods. (Note: Agilent 1260, Thermo U3000, the effects of sample solvent are particularly obvious. For these two instruments, the Solv-smoother is more effective)
According the principle of Solv-smoother, it not only eliminates the effects of sample solvent, but also have help about eliminating baseline fluctuations and enhancing the stability of retention time, such as the method of using ion-pairing reagent to mobile phase. Since the Solv-smoother fully let the ion-pairing reagent in mobile phase combine these sample molecules. There is a significant improvement in the instability of retention time.

Thanks your recommend,our product have been used for 5 years. recently, our find it can resolve many problem in hplc analysis,especially in using four low pressure HPLC. There is a problem of mobile phase no-fully mixing in these HPLC instrument. our find our product not only reduce solvent effects but also improve the gradient elution.our wish our product can help more lab worker,so express the chapter.

our product was made for foucusing on chinese traditional medicine firstly.Chinese pharmacopoeia have many HPLC method about chinese traditional medicine.In these method,many sample is extracted by alcohol,finally is diluted by methanol.Later,our find this product have many help in HPLC.Now our want introduce the Solv-smoother to more lab workers of other contries.

Could your give me your email, i sent some application to you.These information are chinese,but chromatogram is the general language to lab worker between different contries. :lol:
