Non Chromatography question about Time Resolved Fluorescence

Has anyone got any experience using fluorescence spectroscopy. More specifically time resolved fluorescence ? I am looking for some advice on the advantages of trf over traditional wet chemical testing methods and other forms of spectroscopy. Also any tips in general about the technique. I appreciate that this is a chromatography forum and cant thank the fellow members enough for their Chromatography help.
