Hello,

Someone brought me a white styrofoam like powder and asked me if I could determine what it was. This is the ATR scan I collected of it using a diamond crystal ATR

It is clearly not organic, but I am not sure what else to say. It looks like a silicate from the peak at 1050 but can anyone else give me some more information? No idea what the little blip around 2300 is.
Looks like Fumed silica or quartz sand.

The signal at 2300 is CO2.
