Just was reading some forum posts. Ooph… It is like Lavoisier's time. People don’t have access to Internet, no vendor support, and they are trying to fix complex GCs and MSs. Really I want to remove my hat in front of them.

No names no pack drill, but some instrument companies make sales by claiming that their hardware can just be plugged in and run by anyone. Paradoxically it is only the labs that have the expertise who know that this is nonsense - it is exactly the labs that cannot run the instruments that fall for this sales pitch.

At my university there was a running gag that new eqipment is so good you put a sample at one end and get research paper on the other.

There are companies who more-or-less offer that level of service... for an appropriate price!

Handing a xC-MS-MS unit to an untrained analyst is about as sensible as giving a Bugatti Veyron to an unlicensed driver

I live in developing country and i do have problems with installing and maintaining equipment. It is becouse I forsed to wait a mounth for new consumables and specialists. I have to planing my work ahead and fix many problems by myself. It is very complicated, then you are only GC specialist in laboratory and do not have enougth expirience. And i have to mention, that I broke one GCFID just becouse I forget to remove water from air compressor
All I ever need to know I'm learned in cloning vats.
