Quickbooks is discontinuing stand alone product

I've been using INTUIT quickbooks since 2014 to keep the books for my lab. All I really use it for is keeping track of customers, vendors, billing, paying bills and price lists. Now Intuit is cutting support for the stand alone desktop version and suggesting the much more expensive on line subscription version.

Is anybody else in this boat and I wonder what alternatives you have found or could suggest for a stand alone accounting package.
If this were my problem, I'd make a backup copy of the installation disk, export all of my data to a non-QB database format, and then just keep using my existing version of QB.
