Hi, I also have one question, which I hope you can help me with. How do you call a volume (or time) which combines the system dwell (delay) volume + column void volume?

My problem is that I don't know how to describe the time in the chromatogram when my baseline actually starts to drift in a gradient analysis (the effluent hits the detector). This is not the hold-up volume since it doesn't take the pump and mixer into account, right?

Cheers

As far as I know, that sum does not have an "official" name. I usually just use "tD + t0", but so long as you define your terms, you can call it whatever you want.
