Empower 2 instrument failure

when I tried to load the methods, it says instrument failure. And cannot change solvent composition either.
our hardware is agilent 1100, but use waters empower 2.
it seems a communication issue. but when ping the IP, it dose show connection.
could you please help? Thank you.
