Have you found a CDS software yet?
If not I need to ask what instrument do you have?
The instrument manufacturer software is the best choice for any instrument because the software is designed to work with the instrument without interface issues or bugs.
The only time it is recommended to go with a generic software is if you want to control multiple instruments from different manufacturers or want to import data from different manufacturer's instruments into a single database. There will almost always be issues with a non-manufacturer software.
Several of the big manufacturers have already solved the interface issues with other manufacturer instruments. So there are fewer issues when using their software. From experience I can say that Waters Empower, Agilent EZChrom OpenLab and Thermo Chromeleon are good to look at.
