Install CombiPal on new PC

Hello,
We are trying to upgrade our PC because the video card wasn't working. We bought a new one with Windows 7 for our Varian 3800. It's using MS Workstation V 6.9.3 and combipal has firmware version 2.5.2.
When we use the pal loader on the PC, the communications work great. When we open up the MS Workstation, the combipal begins to alarm a solid alarm.
We don't have a manual here; so, I'm not sure what to look at. The handheld says "remote control" but it appears to be a communications time out.
We didn't have this issue on our previous PC. Is there a set up guide somewhere?
Thanks!
Denise

Not sure if this of use but here is the combi pal manual

Have you deleted the instrument off the MS WS and reconfigured it?

Were you using MS Workstation V 6.9.3 with Windows 7 previously? The documentation I found says it's not compatible with Windows 7. PAL loader will work with just about any windows operating system

Hi,

Thanks for your help. I ended up re-downloading the firmware off of the combipal page. The old firmware was corrupted.
