Hi
I am relatively new to LCMS QTOF technology, my organisation is thinking of getting a new LCMS QTOF and I am trying to get some understanding in terms of data storage and capacity for targeted unknown and unknown-unknown analysis.

I believe that acquisition of data can be done at high resolution scan in 3D and this can generate huge amount of data. Hence, does this required a database server??

Any information will help.
All you need is a PC with a decent hard drive, and a good place to backup/offload data files over time (network storage that is archived regularly is ideal, a very large external HDD would be second choice).
Thanks,
DR
