Anybody know of a fix for a GCMS Chemstation 6890/5972 where the computer intermittently throws data directories into DIFFERENT subdirectories (randomly, it appears)? G1701AA on Win95

Sledgehammer approach:
setup a logical volume for just the CDS program(s) and data collection. After every run, move the data into the preferred folder on the preferred logical volume.
Better approach:
pop for a new OS & more recent software version.
