We are currently piloting use of column tags on our existing ChemStation Plus system and will be also trying it on Cerity.

They seem to be working OK, though we have found that the manaul column information is not overridden if "Installed" is selected as Yes (which is logical where column switching is used and only one column has a tag). Also, the fact that void volume is just that is annoying - on the manual setup you could select the units for Void "Volume" as time, which was better for us since you read that directly off a blank chromatogram.

Questions therefore are: Does anyone else use column tags, either with ChemStation or Cerity? If you do, what are your experiences? How do you handle t0/void volume? Do you generate any reports on column performance and if you do, how to you format the data? If you just use electronic recording of data, do you have a separate sheet detailing column washes for each column or some other way of making this information available?

Thanks
Tim
