From my experience with the EzChrom software and the Hitachi LC, I can safely say that you do not need a second computer in your laboratory if and only if you can connect both LC to your computer throu 2 USB ports. that is the only and relevant part. it's even simpler with the old Lachrom since you can put two GPIB connection on one port
further more your supplier should charge you only for a second instrument license price for all related matters. also for hitachi controls and also for SST licenses.
There is absolutly no reason why you could not have both LC on one PC. hope you read this
