I had a Win2k machine running Class VP7.2 SP1 controlling a Shimadzu LC system and an Agilent/HP6890 + HP AutoSampler. Everything worked fine.

I've replaced the Win2k machine with XP SP3 and am now running Class VP7.4. The Shimadzu LC system works fine. The Agilent/HP instruments throw an error that there isn't a license available for an HP7673 AutoSampler.

Comparing the configs between the Win2k machine and the new one, the Agilent AutoSampler was configured as "Through GC-External Controller" on the Win2k machine and I don't have that option on the new box. The only options are 7673A, 7683A, and 7683B.

Anyone know of a way to resolve this? Any help would be appreciated. The Shimadzu support tech has been helpful with other issues but has yet to even come close to resolving this one.

you need update chemstation
have you checked your licenses like the error says?
how did you do the install
did you re-installed a pre-existing license repair?
you need to speak to agilent anyway since they have the better knowledge of the software since ezchrom is class vp
