We just got 4 new GC and GCMS 8890 systems from Agilent. No surprisingly, our custom macros and LIMS system developed 25 years ago do not work with either Mass Hunter or Chemstation F software. Which LIMS systems have you guys had success with using Mass Hunter or the newest iteration of Chemstation?

The organisation that I work for uses a custom (mostly) in house LIMS system. While it can directly and automatically import reports generated by MassHunter, the feature I more frequently use is manually importing data exported from MH or CS as *.csv files. It doesn't take long (about 20 seconds for a seasoned user) to format that csv data into the format required by our LIMS.

Surely your LIMS can directly import something like .csv? It's a common feature for testing purposes.
We use Element LIMS by Promium and also import from the .csv files in Enviroquant version of MSDChemstation Data analysis (F version), you can also develop an export method for Mass Hunter DA. Promium has one that they developed for us that can be used by anyone I believe, if you don't want to try an format it using the wizard in Mass Hunter.

The .csv has been the format we have used for at least the last 20 years for importing results into LIMS over three different LIMS systems.
The past is there to guide us into the future, not to dwell in.
