Hello:

We added an FID to our 5975/7890 system in order to be able to analyze for TPH using the chemstation software. We are able to get a very good calibration but we are getting very high counts for our blank samples (baseline becomes negative)! Any suggestions.

Thank you very much for your help.
Get your program set up. Fire up the system and press run a few times to clear out the column. Now do a column compensation run. That should get you a flat baseline for your calibration. When you do a run on a new day. Try doing a couple blank runs (by pressing run on the front panel). If it looks good, run an actual blank before the CCV. If the blank is good, proceed. Otherwise back up and do another column compensation run.
