Fluctuating pressure Dionex ICS-2000

The pressure on our unit is fluctuating between 1200-1700 and is constantly jumping 20-30 psi. Every time it makes a knocking sound it drops by about 300 psi for less than a second. Any troubleshooting suggestions? Thank you.
Go through the check valves. Clean or replace them.
Thanks,

Thank you for the advice. I did this after I read your comment, but the problem persists. The jumps currently aren't as large, but it might go back to it.
Check the eluent filter, if you have.
I can't remember if this model uses the cams in the pump to push the pistons, but if it does and one of the pistons is sticking, it will cause bad pulses as the cam pulls away and a fraction of a second later the piston breaks loose and pops back against the cam. That could be the loud noise you hear periodically. If so check the springs on the pistons and see if they are corroded or caked with salt from the eluent leaking past the seals.
The past is there to guide us into the future, not to dwell in.
