Options for a new IC system?

Discussions about IC and related topics

Hi everyone,

We have a pretty ancient looking couple of IC2000 and an ED50 (?) that we are potentially looking to trade in for a newer model. I was wondering if anybody had any opinions on the pros and cons of using various systems, Metrohm, Thermo (Dionex) etc? I'm a bit oblivious to IC so guidance would be appreciated!

For reference we'd be looking for multi channel - anions cations and sugars.

Thanks in advance,
Emily
Simple rule. Contact both , get samples run, demo, get quotes and negociate with the one you prefer.
Dear Emily

Check with your local Metrohm representative to get a demonstration and a trial.
This give you the respective information with your hands on.

Hi Emily,

To change it would be better to go with Thermo (Dionex) Reagent free ICS 5000+.
As you were using ICS 2000 you need not to change the methods. ICS 5000+ is a robust system and as introduction to new ASAP autosampler the RSD's are quite lower.

yes, agree with the above, just trying to contact with a local representative may be helpful, and you truly have the chace to get a demonstration and a trial. I've done that before.
The secret to happiness is to keep setting yourself new challenges.

Hello Emily,

Have you considered the use of a Cecil IonQuest IC system. They are modular, robust, highly sensitive and long lasting.

As they are modular, they can grow with your requirements. The PowerStream software is easy to use, but comprehensive, and the IC systems do not require highly specialist servicing contracts.
