Connecting suppressor ERS500 to DX120

Hello:

We are analyzing anion by DX120 (about 50 samples a year). We noticed that the linearity of instrument was becoming narrower and there was not enough separation between sulfate and phosphate. We changed the column and the guard column but there was not enough improvement. Dionex suggested to purchase a new suppressor (ERS 500). We followed the direction from Dionex to connect the new suppressor but the system gives us a continuous alarm message with a high conductivity reading. We do not have any leak and we can see the flow (our flow is 1.2). Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Im pretty sure the ERS 500 will not work with the DX-120 or any other older non-discrete power supply units and that you would need a discrete power supply like an RFC-10 etc to make it work in the DX-120..
You will need to order the AERS 300 older style suppressor if they are still making it, that part was a special order last time I checked....call Dionex and ask for tech support and they should be able to clarify and exchange it if that is the case....

Thank you very much eg for your reply. We were able to get the right suppressor from Thermo Fisher (Thermo Dionex did not carry it!), part #SP6949.
