Hi,

I just got a 7000/7890 and am installing. The opening screen on the MS says "gcms comm. disable". Sounds like it is telling me it can't communicate but I just don't know. Has anybody seen that before? Also, the vacuum pump kicks on when I turn it on but turn off after about ten minutes so never pumps down.

Thanks!
Marc
The comm disable message will always pop up until everything has started up and passed its checks I believe.(I can't shut mine down at the moment to verify)

When you start the system, do you drop the side panel and push on both the front and rear vacuum chamber doors to make sure they are sealing? These usually need some pressure on them to make enough seal for the vacuum to pull them in hard against the o-rings, once that happens the vacuum will pull down normally and the turbo pump will spin up and the comm message will go away.
The past is there to guide us into the future, not to dwell in.
