I am having trouble hooking up an HP1200 HPLC to the Quattro Micro triple quad MS. I can be connected to me but when I go to configure the MS inlet method it gives me an error of "Failed to open sicl communication session at address hpib7,21. SICL error: -No error.

I installed everything from scratch through Micromass recover disk (all the drivers and s/w) but the problem still exists.
Does anyone know what's going on.

Hi,

Masslynx cannot control a Agilent 1200 system. You will have to downgrade the firmware on the 1200 to emulate 1100 series and then it works. Emulation firmware is available on the Agilent website. I have done this succesfully before.

Would you please give the working firmware number for each module?
